Abstract

The output shaft (6) is provided with a brake dependent upon the motor switch, the braking position of the brake being allocated to the dead electric motor. The brake is actuated by means of an electromagnet (12) which lies in the electric circuit of the electric motor of the saw in such a way that, when the electric circuit is interrupted, the electromagnet (12) also becomes currentless and a brake disc (28) held by the electromagnet (12) against the force of at least one spring (33) moves into the braking position. This ensures that the sawing tool is stopped immediately when the motor is switched off.
