644,334. Machinery guards. PARNALL (YATE), Ltd. Jan. 8, 1948, No. 608. [Class 80(iv)] A guard 11 for a circular saw 7 is carried on swinging arms 1, 2 and is adapted to be moved from a guarding position by the forward movement of the work-holder 27. The guard is adapted to be positively held in the guarding position by a catch 24 engaging an abutment 26 on the machine until this catch is released by engagement of a base plate 28 of the workholder- 27 with a pivoted stirrup lever 14 on the front of the guard, which lever acts on a rod 19 having a wedge block 20 at its other end co-operating with the catch 24.
