Abstract
1280314 Manufacture of bricks E PUTIN 23 July 1969 [7 Sept 1968] 36945/69 Heading E1B [Also in Division F4] In the continuous automatic manufacture of bricks, the bricks arriving from a spacing device 1 are reassembled, by transfer device 2, for loading on a multi-stage lift 3 which feeds the bricks on to multi-superimposed stages of a tunnel drier 4 after which they are then reassembled by transfer device 5 and enter a firing kiln 6 from which they issue, after reassembly, on to a conveyor 8 for stacking and tying. During their travel through the drying tunnel the bricks may leave the moving superimposed stages and be reassembled, by means of inclined planes (29, Fig. 6) directly one on the other on a single moving surface. Immediately prior to entering the kiln, the bricks advance on a displaceable section moving at variable speed and acts as a reservoir of bricks to compensate for any temporary stoppages. In other embodiments (Figs. 3, 4) two firing kilns are fed in parallel by a simple drier, however several driers may be provided.
