942,180. Continuous kilns. SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ N.VMarch 29, 1962 [March 31, 1961], No. 12101/62. Heading F4B. A continuous kiln for firing ceramics comprises a sloping tunnel having a preheating zone 3, a firing zone 4 and cooling zone 5,zones 3 and 5 being interconnected by a flue 11 connected to zone 4 by ports 10 between roof members 9 having bottom surfaces sloping oppositely to the kiln. An adjustable auxiliary stack 14 may be provided at the entrance to the cooling zone 15.
