Abstract
1327286 Walking beam conveyer furnaces TABOUGNAR AB 9 July 1971 [4 Nov 1970] 32360/71 Heading F4B In a walking beam conveyer furnace of the type in which the operative beams 4 rest in horizontal channels 5 defined by supporting ridges 2, the ridges are connected to covered channels 6 by slots 9 extending obliquely and upwardly towards the beams in the direction of movement of the charge. The channels 6 contain anciliary burners 10 supplying the hot gases which pass through said slots. An alternative construction shown on the right hand side of the drawing has open topped channels 6, the hot gases within the furnace being induced to pass through the slots. In a further embodiment (Fig. 3) the slots 9 are replaced by circular ports in the ridges. With the second embodiment waste gases could be withdrawn from the furnace and recirculated through the channels 6.
