Abstract

1,254,719. Firing ceramic tiles;- drying ceramic tiles. CERAMICA FILIPPO MARAZZI S.p.A. 13 Dec., 1968 [17 Feb., 1968], No. 59557/68. Headings F4B and F4G. In the production of ceramic tiles and drying and/or bisque firing is carried out in a tunnel kiln with the tiles stacked substantially vertically in saggers at a distance of at least 7 mm. from one another. Tiles from automatic moulding presses 1 and 1<SP>1</SP> are carried by conveyer belt 3 to a stacker 5 which loads them into saggers 7 from whence conveyer belt 6 carries them through a device 8 which turns the saggers on a horizontal axis through 90 degrees and then to a truck loading station 7R. The loaded truck 10 passes through a drying and biscuit firing tunnel link 11 to station 7R<SP>1</SP> where the saggers are placed again on conveyer 6 travelling then to an automatic unloading station 14. Empty saggers return on conveyer 6 and a conveyer belt 15 moves the tiles first through a glazing tunnel 16 and then to stacker 5<SP>1</SP>. The initial process is repeated with kiln truck 18 passing through a glazing tunnel kiln 19 and the glazed tiles are unloaded at station 14<SP>1</SP>.
