1279216 Railway vehicle couplers AMSTED INDUSTRIES Inc 18 Jan 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 2356/71 Heading B7T In a " Janney " type railway vehicle coupler having a horizontally extending interlock shelf 20 disposed beneath throat 22 and a rotary locklift assembly 24 with an anti-creep prong 34 the throat is provided with an opening 54 forming a ledge 56 for functional engagement by prong 34 when the assembly is operative. If only partial operation of the assembly is required the opening may be closed at its end opposite the prong, Fig. 4.
