In a rate of fluid-flow measuring device a fluidflow restricting member 3 axially movable in a tapered or stepped bore 5, by a hand wheel 24, to constrict the gap between the member 3 and bore 5 passages 12, 13 are provided in the member 3 to measure the pressure differential of the fluidflow upstream and downstream of the gap by pressure gauges attached to the ends of tubes 9, 10 to provide an indication of the fluid-flow rates through the constriction.
