Abstract

1,274,511. Foundations; blocks, formwork. SVENSKA ICOPALFABRIKEN A.B. 6 June, 1969 [10 June, 1968], No. 28898/69. Headings E1A, E1B and E1S. A building foundation comprises a foundation wall of juxtaposed heat and moisture insulating blocks 1 Fig. 4 and a layer of clinker 8, disposed within the confines of the wall, covered with cast in situ steel concrete 9, using the blocks as a form side wall. The blocks, of e.g. light weight clinker concrete, are supported during casting of layer 9 by V- shaped elements 4 provided with angle irons 6, 7 attached to a supporting wooden lath 2 and blocks 1 respectively. The blocks Fig. 1 have an open U-shaped groove 3 in their top surface for the reception of reinforcing rods 10 and frames 11 embracing the rods 10 extend into layer 9 after casting whereupon concrete 12 is poured into the grooves 3. The blocks may be laid on a thin layer of cement (20 Fig. 6 not shown) and may be bevelled on their inner surfaces.
