Abstract

1,274,303. Hydraulic presses. HYDREL A.G. 1 May, 1969 [2 May, 1968], No. 22174/69. Heading B5F. [Also in Division B3] A piston 30 of a reciprocating tool holder 24 in a stamping press is guided by an elastically yielding guide cone 45 which is pressed, by springs 54, against the conical surface of a clamping cone 46, so as to press the guide cone 45 radially towards the piston 30. In operation the piston 30 is raised by feeding hydraulic fluid through opening 35 and is guided by guides 37 and 38 having a construction as described above with the exception that the guide cone 45a of the guide 37 is pressed outwardly against cylinder 25 and the piston crown 36a itself embodies the clamping cone 46. When the tool holder 24 carrying a blank meets tool holder 20, piston 7, guided by guides 11 and 12 having the same construction as guides 37 and 38 respectively, is forced upwardly against a predetermined back pressure. Sub-units 3 and 2 carrying tool holder 24 and 20 respectively may be removed from frame 1 by removing fasteners 4 and 16 and sliding the sub-units along guideways 15 and 28.
