Abstract

A vehicle door lock is released by a pulled handle element which is guided in a housing. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the release element 3, 7 is guided for linear movement in a guide housing 6 against spring 4, a nose 9 of self-lubricating material (P.T.F.E.) or having a terminal roller (Fig. 2 not shown), acting on a mechanism part 5. The movement is facilitated by balls 17 and limited by a stop 8A in slot 24. The guide-balls may be arranged outside the guide-housing (Fig. 2, not shown) in grooves (20, 21). As shown in Fig. 4, the release element 8 is pivoted at one end, 30, and guided by balls 17 in an arc-shaped guide at the other.
