Abstract

1,269,110. Threading up heaters. BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 23 Dec., 1969 [27 Dec., 1968], No. 62526/69. Heading D1F. An arrangement for threading up a heating box 2 in a textile e.g. false twist crimping, machine comprises a rod 8 which can be raised or lowered e.g. by a handle 9, a member 5 on rod 8 slidable on a rail 7 and carrying a pivoted bracket 10 normally held in an upright position by a spring 12, a stop 13 to pivot the bracket from its upright position to the position shown when sliding member 5 is moved to its uppermost position and weight 17 to which the filament can be attached and which can be mounted on bracket 10 to be held securely when the bracket is in its upright position but which falls from the bracket when the bracket is in the position shown. To thread up, member 5 is slid to its lowest position, the filament is placed over guides 14, 15 on bracket 10 and the filament is attached to member 17 which is then mounted on the bracket. Member 5 is then slid to its top position wherein the bracket is pivoted, and the weight falls through the heating box 2. Weight 17 may be mounted in a forked member 16 or it may be supported in a cup (Fig. 2 not shown) or it may be supported by a permanent magnet (Fig. 3 not shown). Alternatively it may be supported by an electromagnet which is switched off by the lowering of the bracket.
