Abstract

1,267,402. Inking apparatus. COLOR CONTROL SYSTEMS Inc. 12 May, 1969 [14 May, 1968], No. 24092/69, Heading B6C. An ink fountain for use on a printing machine comprises a fountain roller 12, a fountain blade 22 and fountain keys 28 which co-operate with the blade 22 to control the flow of ink on to the roller 12, each key being provided with a dial 32 associated with a pointer 40 so that adjustment of the keys to various particular settings, previously determined to suit different printing runs, can be effected easily. The dials are colour coded to facilitate approximate adjustment, and the dials on adjacent keys may be arranged in the staggered manner shown.
