Abstract

In a nuclear reactor concrete pressure vessel, mineral fibre thermal insulation is secured against the internal steel liner of the pressure vessel by studs welded to the liner. The insulation, 5, is urged against the liner, 2, by the collar, 4<SP>1</SP>, screw threaded on to the stud, 1. The cover plates 7, 8 and the foils 6 are retained on the collar by the nut 9 and spacer 10.
