Abstract

1,266,181. Window, door &c. frames. PHOENIX GUMMIWERKE A.G. 13 June, 1969 [14 June, 1968], No. 30231/69. Heading E1J. A pair of rigid plastics (P.V.C.) frame members 1, 8 for forming cooperating confronting surfaces 5, 14 of the wing frame 1 of a door or window and its main frame 8, each frame member being of constant hollow crosssection and cooperating in the closed position of the door or window to define a chamber 9 and each member has two longitudinally extending abutments 12, 13 and 14, 15 cooperating to form transversely of the members, two antechambers 16, 17 on opposite sides of the chamber 9 such that there is no straight line passage past the abutting portions forming either antechamber. One or more of the abutments may be resilient (Neoprene) and secured releasably in a groove such as seal strip 15. Staggered water run-off bores 23, 27 are provided between the exterior strip and the chamber 9. The exterior portion of the confronting surfaces 4, 21 diverge towards the exterior and the upper portion has a drip ridge 24.
