Abstract

1,186,193. Sliding doors &c. assemblies. CLIVE INVESTMENTS PTY. Ltd. 30 Aug., 1967 [30 Sept., 1966; 16 Nov., 1966], No. 39728/67. Heading E1J. A sliding panel and frame assembly comprises adjustment means including the adjustable runner 22 of a sash 13 slidable on a rib 4 of the sill member of the frame which runner comprises a roller assembly constituted by a U- shaped member 22 horizontally disposed with the major surfaces of its arms 24, 25 vertical a block 21 slid between these arms and integral with a T-section bar 18 slidable in the upper chamber 17 formed by internal ribs 16 in the inverted channel portion of an H-section rail 12 of the sash and secured against the ribs 16 by grub screws 30 screwed against the web of the inverted channel, the member 22 being pivoted to the block 21 at 26 and adjusted as to inclination with respect to the bar 18 and rail 12 by a grub screw 32 screwing against block 21, said adjustment means also including buffers 55 adjustably mounted by grub screw 50 in a block 46 adjustable and fixable by grub screw 48 in the chamber 44 in the mullion to contact the confronting sash stile when the sash is in closed position. The vertical side members 36 of the sash are secured to the upper and lower members by linear connectors 37, one end 37a of which is locked by grub screws 38 in a chamber 33 similar to chamber 17 of the stile and the lower portion 37 of the connector is secured in the confronting end e.g. of the rail 12 by a self-tapping screw 35 engaged in an omegasection recess 34. Each mullion 2 of the main frame is of channel section with an inwardly projecting rib 43 forming the chamber 44 and the arms are provided near their ends with weather strips (45 Fig. 5).
