Abstract

1,263,361. Foldable doors; pinless hinges. LOUVERDRAPE Inc. 3 Oct., 1969 [17 Oct., 1968], No. 48648/69. Headings E1J and E2F. A cap for a folding door panel particularly for the type of folding door made from a plurality of hinged vertical panels in which the hinge parts allow vertical relative movement between the panels, but restricting relative horizontal movement comprises a part 8 having a vertical surface, projections 22, 23 for connecting the cap to the panel 4 by projecting through apertures 24, 25 in the panel 4 and the panel is prevented from withdrawing off the projections by a second part having a surface parallel to that which carries the projections; a lower horizontal finger 21 extending from one end of the first part and positioned so that it rests on an upper part of an adjacent vertical panel; and an upper horizontal finger 20 extending from the other end of the first part and positioned so that it is vertically supported by the lower finger 21 of an adjacent cap. The panel may be supported by a nylon slide formed integrally with the P.V.C. cap or the panel may be supported directly from a nylon slide 2 having a part 27 with a hook 28, which when the part 27 is inserted through a bore 26 in the cap, passes through a hole 29 in the panel to support this latter. The hinges may be pinless as described in Specification 1,192,894.
