Abstract

1,260,176. Cast in-citu walls. G. C. LOUNT and W. D. LOUNT. 13 Oct., 1969 [18 Oct., 1968], No. 50097/69. Heading E1W. Reinforced cast in-citu walls are provided with reinforcing strands or cables 13 tensioned and secured to the end regions of vertically spaced concrete floor slabs 10A, 10B and passing through holes 14 or eye bolts embedded in the intermediate floor slabs. A welded wire or expanded metal grid 18 is wired to the strands 13 between adjacent floor slabs 10, 10A. A plywood form 23 with a smooth inner face 32 is temporarily fixed to the outside and concrete or urithane cement gunned or trowled around the reinforcements from the inside; or an expanded polystyrene permanent insulating shuttering (34), Fig. 10 (not shown), is held by batons (35) on the inside of the reinforcements and cement applied from the outside. In this latter case the wall is supported by anchor members (46), Fig. 9 (not shown), previously embedded in the floor slab ends. The reinforcing strands and the lathing mesh may be formed as a single unit unrolled on the site, see Fig. 8.
