Abstract

1,259,781. Ventilator windows. S.M.L. (ENGS.) Ltd. [trading as ELLBEE WINDOW CO.], 30 May, 1969 [6 March, 1968], No. 10813/68. Heading E1J. A drop-back or hopper type ventilator window for vehicles, caravans, &c. comprises a drop-back frame 6 of extruded material mounted near its lower end by side pivots 8 in the surrounding frame 2 of extruded or rolled material and which has at least its upper and lower frame members flanged as at 3 and 5 to furnish sealing faces against which the frame 6 seals when closed through the intermediary of resilient sealing strips 10, 12 of rubber, nylon or wool pile fabric. The side frame members of the main frame may also have flanges to provide sealing faces. The sealing strips may be provided on the main frame to seal against faces on the drop-back frame 6 and are preferably accommodated in undercut grooves 9, 13. The flange 11 may be integral or an arm of an L-section secured to the main frame member 2 and provided with a rib 4 for securing the frame 1 in the window opening.
