Abstract

The flexible seal is used between pressed steel doors and frames, particularly in cars. A composite joint comprises three seals, one standard (4) between door and frame (1), one standard (6) between door (5) and window (7) and the third (8). This seal (8) is C shaped with a flexible lip extension (8a) and is mounted in a complementary housing (9) having an inturned lip (11). In use, the seal is inserted in the housing and is retained in position by a V section plastic strip which is inserted in the C and tends to spread the seal, at the same time the V section is lodged behind the lip (11) and thus prevented from falling out.
