905,808. Draught and weather excluders. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Sept. 9, 1960 [Sept. 28, 1959], No. 32885/60. Class 20 (3). [Also in Groups XXV and XXIX] A door, boot lid, window &c. of a car is sealed by an inflatable tube sealing strip 3, Fig. 2a, in the gap between the door or other closure member 6 and the frame 5 of the opening, the tube 3 being inflated from a compressed air retaining source to a pressure lower than said source through a pressure-reducing valve, e.g. of the Schrader type (see Group XXIX) arranged to cut off the inflating air stream when the pressure in the tube has attained its desired value. In the inflated condition of the tube a lip 4, Fig. 2a, or two lips 2a, Fig. 8, engages or engage the frame 5 or the slidable window pane, respectively. The tube may have a portion 39, Fig. 9, which on inflation projects to co-operate with an opposed portion 38 on the frame to provide a lock in which case valves, remotely controlled or e.g. controlled by the initial operation of a door handle effect the deflation of the tube.
