Abstract

The seal is made of soft rubber or plastic and fits in the grooves of door panels. The doors are intended to close pressurised housings used in aircraft. The seal is held in a channel (2) in the door frame and consists of a hollow membrane which may be inflated to form a seal against the face of the door (3). The seal has an extension which has an auxiliary seal (5). The auxiliary seal (5) is not-inflatable but will hold the pressure when the seal is not inflated. A number of alternative profiles of the auxiliary seal (5) are possible.
