Abstract

Mines, marine.-Relates to explosive bodies provided with upper and lower vertical fins and adapted to be towed from the stern of a ship for destroying submarine objects. According to the invention, the explosive body 4 comprises an explosive chamber 13 beneath a longitudinal air chamber 12, and is provided with a contact firing- device 21 and with an upper longitudinal fin o and lower flanges 8 both perforated for the attachment of towing and guy cables 3, 10, 11. Several such explosive bodies may be towed simultaneously. The flanges 8 are made with horizontal ledges 9; and the flanges mav be bent to one side or the other, and the ledges may be bent up or down to regulate the spread and depth of the explosive bodies.
