A sea mine comprises a container for an explosive charge and instruments for detonating the charge which is substantially wedge-shaped (as in Figs. 1-3) so that on being laid in water the mine will move downwards with a horizontal component of movement and on coming to rest will be orientated with one flat side 10 or 12 directed upwardly.
