Abstract
1,256,462. Flavouring. INTERNATIONAL FLAVORS & FRAGRANCES Inc. 5 Feb., 1970 [5 Feb., 1969; 6 Oct., 1969], No. 5602/ 70. Heading A2B. [Also in Division C2] Compounds of formula where n is 1 to 4, R 1 is H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkadienyl or a moity of formula and R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 and R 7 are H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkadienyl or taken together R 5 and R 6 and/or R 3 and R 7 form cyclialkyl, cyclialkenyl, cyclialkadienyl, benzo, thieno, dihydrothieno, tetrahydrothieno, furano, dihydrofurano, or tetrahydrofurano rings, and the dashed lines represent single or double carbon-carbon bonds are used to impart meaty or roasted flavours to foodstuffs. Other substances present in examples are NaCl, hydrolysed vegetable protein, monosodium glutamate, sucrose, beef fat, caramel colour, gum arabic and corn oil.
