Abstract
1,256,083. Solid fuel boiler stoves. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd., and ASTRA SECURITIES Ltd. 5 Dec., 1969 [3 Oct., 1968], No.47027/68. Heading F4W. A solid fuel fired boiler stove has a hopper 1 spaced above a grate 6, the hopper having inclined lower parts to the front, back and side walls, the inclination of the lower front wall 3 of the hopper to the vertical lying between 25 and 55 degrees and the distance from the lower rear wall 2 of the hopper to the grate being greater than distance of the lower front wall 3 to the grate. The outlet of the hopper is rectangular, and the edges of the grate are parallel to the edges of the outlet 5, the size of the grate depending on the spacing of the hopper outlet from the grate. The front to back dimension of the grate is between 2 and 3 times the distance of the front hopper wall 3 from the grate 6, and between 2 and 2¢ times the distance of the back hopper wall 2 from the grate .6. The side to side dimension of the hopper outlet is 2À8 times the front to back dimension. The grate bars are of trapezoidal section with the wide ends uppermost, and may be pivoted for rocking about their longitudinal axes.
