A domestic coal bunker is shaped as shown with the uppermost portion of the front 16 being defined by a series of removable boards 20 slipped into grooves 19 in the side walls 12. The bunker may be made of wood or concrete and be provided with a baffle adjacent the shovelling recess 21 together with a base plate, see also Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown).
