Abstract

1,254,919. Disc brakes. ALFRED TEVES G.m.b.H. 1 Oct., 1969 [4 Oct., 1968], No. 48285/69. Heading F2E. A spot type disc brake comprises a two part, non-rotatable, U-shaped housing 1 straddling a brake disc, the housing being formed with a radially extending opening 10 for the reception of brake pads 11, 12. The two parts of the housing are held together by screws 4, 5, 6, 7, one at least of which traverses the opening 10. The screw(s) 6, 7 which traverse the opening 10 is/are perpendicular to the brake disc plane and passes/pass through recesses in the back plates of the brake pads to form guides therefor. In a further embodiment one screw only passes through the opening, the screw in the opening being surrounded by a sleeve on which is mounted the brake pads (Fig. 2, not shown).
