Abstract

1355742 Brake pads ALFRED TEVES GmbH 1 June 1972 [8 June 1971] 25593/72 Heading F2E A brake lining backing plate of a floating caliper disc brake has a recess 13 in which is located a disc member 12 having an aperture 11 co-operating with a pin for holding the plate to the floating caliper. Discs 12 having various apertures to suit the particular pin may be provided while the backing plate 14 and recess 13 is the same for all brake types. The recess is formed by debossing a circular area 20, Fig. 1 (not shown) having a central aperture 18, the material of the backing plate flowing into the aperture 18 so that the latter is not left at the centre 21 after the pressing operation. The disc is fixed in the recess 13 by caulkings 19 at selected points.
