Abstract

1,254,566. Electric couplings. H. WOERTZ, and 0. WOERTZ, [trading as OSKAR WOERTZ Inh. H. & O. WOERTZ]. 13 Nov., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967], No. 53790/68. Heading H2E. A body member 10 defines a cavity 11 and a pressure bar 12 operated by a screw 15 forces conductors inserted into the cavity against a spring 13 of V-section upwardly bowed in the centre. Tilting of the spring 13 permits two conductors to be gripped simultaneously even if of different diameters. Relieved portions 23 in the projecting end 21 of the spring assist the tilting. The V-section may extend over only part of the length of the spring, the edges of which may, for example, be corrugated.
