Abstract

1,254,200. Printing apparatus. SCHNELLPRESSENFABRIK KOENIG & BAUER A.G. 11 April, 1969 [4 Nov., 1968], No. 18680/69. Heading B6C. Impression cylinder 2 is flanked by sheetfeeding and delivery devices 15, 14, 13, 11, 12 which include a sheet-feeding cylinder 13 and a supporting cylinder 11 for a sheet-delivery conveyer 12. The axes of the cylinders 2, 11 and 13 lie in a plane during printing and the impression cylinder 2 may be tripped out of engagement with an intaglio plate cylinder 10 by movement in a straight path at right angles to the plane and passing through the axis of the plate cylinder 10. Double-acting hydraulic cylinders 9, at each end of the frame 1 in which the cylinders are mounted, each rotate levers 5 about a pivot 7 and so move sliding blocks, in which respective ends of the cylinder 2 are mounted, in guides in frame 1. Play at the pivots 7, and where pins 6 on the levers 5 engage the sliding blocks, reconciles rotation of the levers with straight-line movement of the cylinder 2.
