1,151,894. Delivering sheets. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG - NœRNBERG A.G. 2 Sept., 1966 [5 Nov., 1965], No. 39431/66. Heading B8R. The grippers 2 of a chain-delivery apparatus are fixed to gripper chains 1 which run around a chain wheel 8<SP>1</SP> and deliver sheets 3 on to pile 7 against abutment 4. The grippers are opened by cam 5 and closed by cam 19 through follower roller 6. To vary the point at which the grippers are operated to deposit the sheet cam 5 is movably mounted by way of slot 5<SP>1</SP> on shaft 8. Pin 13, on member 14 which is pivotable about shaft 8, projects through slot 5<SP>1</SP>. Member 14 is drawn against stationary abutment 16 by spring 15. Abutment 17 on member 14 engages cam 19 which cam is pivotally attached at 18 to cam 5. At low delivery speeds cam 5 may be moved from the position shown in Fig. 1 towards the left to shorten the gripper opening distance, this movement causing the cam to pivot about shaft 8 due to engagement of pin 13 with the end of slot 5<SP>1</SP>. Movement of cam 5 to the right is restricted to rectilinear movement by pin 13 since member 14 abuts a fixed stop 16. During movement of cam 5, cam 19 executes angular bodily movement about point 18 due to engagement with abutment 17.
