Abstract
1,253,172. Induction heating apparatus. CHISSO CORP. 3 July, 1970 [4 July, 1969], No. 32356/70. Heading H5H. A heat-generating device having some flexibility is provided by a plurality of inductivelyheated, mechanically independent, ferromagnetic rings 6, 10, on an insulated conductor line 7, 11, carrying A.C. The device heats a liquid transportation pipe of steel or rubber. Distance pieces of plastics, rubber, porcelain or asbestos may be inserted between the rings. The rings may have insulating coatings, to prevent corrosion, or oxide coatings. A braided covering of copper or stainless steel wire may protect the line insulation layers 8 and 12. Heating of road surfaces is mentioned. Specification 3,293,407 is referred to.
