Abstract
1,252,448. Packaging folded goods. I. D. BELLA. 12 Nov., 1968 [15 Nov., 1967], No. 53585/68. Heading B8C. A semi-automatic machine for packing goods such as stockings or underclothes in folded and welded plastics bags comprises a device (A) for welding bags, preferably with unequal sides, from plastics foil, which ejects the finished bags on conveyer belts, a packing table B on which the bags are inflated and filled and a sealing device D where the bags are sealed and provided with markings related to size and quality. Plastics foil is fed from a reel, folded and welded between reciprocable jaws which sever the welded bag from the film strip. The bags travel from the welding device A, via at least two narrow parallel plastics conveyer belts to the surface of the packing table B. The bag is transferred to the bag-holding arrangement O where it is held while its mouth is blown open by air from blower 69 and bag openers 62 are inserted into its mouth. The folded article is slid into the bag D automatically or by hand and the filled bag is pushed on to sloping surface F and slides on to support H and operating switch K of the sealing device where the bag flap is folded over and sealed with an adhesive label.
