Abstract

1,251,794. End fitting for wire ropes. BRITISH ROPES Ltd. 31 Dec., 1968 [6 Oct., 1967], No. 45873/67. Heading D1T. The end of a wire rope is passed into a conical socket, the filaments of the rope end are splayed out in the socket and a tube is pushed into the splayed rope end to provide means whereby, when the voids between the splayed filaments are eventually filled with a casting material and the material has set, lubricant can be passed down said tube to lubricate the rope where it enters the conical socket.
