Abstract

A rope is passed through a housing 2, and if the rope has a sheath 9 a length thereof is removed. A double tapered member I is then pushed into the filamentary core and the parted filaments are passed through a collar 3. The collar 3 is pushed against the upper coned portion of the tapered member 1 and the protruding filaments folded over the collar 3 and downwardly around the member 1. The housing 2 and an anchor piece 5 are then joined together by an upper housing 4 to clamp -all the components tightly together.
