[Also in Division H2] A. cable clamp comprises an upper part 1 and a lower part 2, both of extruded metal and complementarily channelled to receive between them multistrand cables 3, 4. Parts 1, 2 are clamped together by bolts 5 which engage threaded bores in lower part 2 which are of such depth that the lower ends of the bolts do not protrude when fully screwed in. The necessary depth is achieved by the provision on lower part 2 of a rib 6, which may have projections 7 to facilitate engagement by a spanner 8. The aim is to prevent the lower ends of the bolts rusting, to which end the bolts are greased before use.
