Abstract

1,186,584. Clamp for wire ropes. CABLE COVERS Ltd 10 May, 1968 [18 May, 1967], No. 23190/67. Heading D1T. A rope clamp or ferrule 2 comprising a one-piece sleeve of oval cross-section and having a conical end 3, is characterized in that the sleeve is formed on its minor axis with two oppositely disposed inwardly directed projections 7, Fig. 5, defining two conjoined longitudinally extending passageways to receive each a single thickness of rope, one of the passageways extending over the whole length of the sleeve and the other passageway extending over a part only of the length of the sleeve. In Fig. 3 the rope end 6 is in the blind passageway, the ropebeing formed into a loop and extending through the other passageway. In Fig. 4 (not shown) both passageways are straight.
