Abstract

In yarn interlacing apparatus as described in Specification 824089 and comprising a body member 11, a yarn passageway 12, and directlyopposed fluid conduits 13A, 13D, the crosssection of the yarn passageway at its intersection with the fluid conduits is an ellipse or a 'rectangle with semi-circular ends, and the width W of the yarn passageway is 1.5 to 2.2 times the height H of the passageway. The crosssectional area of the passageway is 4 to 7 times the cross-sectional area of the conduits. The cross-sectional area of the passageway is 1.4 to 1.75 the diameter of the conduits. The yarninterlacing operation may be combined with another yarn-treatment operation such as drawing or spinning.
