Abstract

1,149,158. Can carrier package. GEO. J. MEYER MFG. CO. 2 Nov., 1967 [14 Nov., 1966], No. 49886/67. Heading B8C. A can &c. carrier package consists of a tubular plastics band heat-shrunk about the cans and having finger openings 16, 18 shaped to facilitate tearing towards the package ends to release the cans. Punched-out portions 20, 22 forming the holes may be used as pull tabs or the holes may be part circular with one straight side adjacent the package ends, the angles between the curved and straight edges forming points of stress concentration facilitating tearing.
