Abstract

1,249,978. Weatherproof garment. UNIROYAL Ltd. 11 Dec., 1968 [12 Dec., 1967], No. 56350/67. Heading A3V. [Also in Division E1] A weatherproof garment comprises a number of vertically spaced members 1-5 encircling the body of a wearer, adjacent members being joined by flexible weatherproof material 6-10 forming the sides and top of the garment, the bottom of the garment being formed by a web 16 having an orifice 17 for the legs, the garment being suspended by its top portion 10 from the head of the wearer. The inner surface 15 of portion 10 may have a slip finish so that the wearer may turn his head freely. The material 6-10 may be of one piece, and patterned or camouflaged woven or sheet plastics material may be used. The members 1-5, which may be elliptical, square or preferably circular shaped, and of circular section, may be of plastics or light alloy, and may be secured to the material 6-10 by stitching or hot welding. A number of ventilation holes 14 are punched in a transparent visor 13 in the material 6. The orifice 17 has elastic sides 18. The garment is collapsible to a substantially flat disc, and carrying handle 19 is provided. The wearer may sit totally enclosed within the garment, which is stated to be suitable for anglers or as a bird watching hide. Sliding clasp fastened arm holes and internal pockets may be provided.
