A reversible plough 1 comprises a frame 2 carrying two oppositely mounted plough shares 6, 7 and a helical rotor 8 having a shaft 17 driven by a reversible hydraulic motor (not shown). The frame is pivotally mounted at 3 so that it may be turned about an axis extending in the direction of motion of tractor 5 so as to reverse the shares. The rotor, which is attached to arm 9 and can swing vertically about pivot 10 between stops 15, 16 consists of a plurality of concentric annular collars 18-27 mounted on the shaft and rotatably adjustable between two limit positions, in which they are connected for rotation with the shaft. Each collar has two diametrically opposed soil-engaging elements 28 which are so arranged that they form helical arrangements of opposite hands when the collars are in the two limit positions. When the shares are reversed, the rotor swings toward the new ground-engaging share, the motor drives shaft 17 in the opposite direction and when the elements 28 engage the ground the collars rotate to their other set of limit positions so as to always form a helix of hand suitable for conveying soil turned by the share upwardly away. The shape of the soil-engaging elements may vary in different embodiments, there may be one or more than two elements per collar, the elements may be detachably mounted and the swinging of arm 9 may be hydraulically assisted.
