Abstract

1,246,823. Ventilating ships. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. 26 Sept., 1968 [26 Sept., 1967], No. 45831/68. Heading F4V. A ventilation system for a ship comprises one or more units 3, each supplied with air from a central source through a duet or ducts 4 and having an upper outlet grid 20 and a lower outlet opening controlled by a louvre 17. In another embodiment, the lower outlet is formed in the front 8a of the unit casing and is controlled by a flap valve. The outflow from the or each duct 4 is controlled by a device 10 which directs the air flow into a chamber 13 lined with sound dampening material 21. A passage 18 which joins the chamber 13 to the grid 20 is stated to produce resistance to the air flow therethrough.
