Abstract

1,246,705. Stud and socket fastenings. G. REITZEL [trading as DRESCHER & KIEFER], 9 April, 1969 [17 April, 1968], No. 19109/69. Heading E2B. A fastener for releasably fastening an overlap closure portion 1 of a carrying case 3 to a wall of the case comprises an engaging member and a receiving member 4, the engaging member including a turnable catch member having a head 5 and shank 5a and the receiving member including a plate 11 having spaced apart receiving openings 12 therethrough, the catch member being insertable and withdrawable from any one of the openings in one angular position and retained therein in another angular position. The openings in the plate are aligned with a slot 10 in the receiving member which is a casing. The openings have a maximum diameter equal to the lengthof the head 5, and the slot 10 has a width equal to that of the head 5 so that the head is inserted into the slot 10 and rotated by a knob 2 or the end of the shank through 90‹ to engage the head in an opening in the plate. The shank and head 5 are spring biased towards the knob. A key or combination lock may be included in the fastener. The receiving member may have a series of elongated slots each of which is registerable with an opening 12.
