1,244,555. Combined power unit and transmission. BRITISH MOTOR CORP. Ltd. 24 April, 1970 [18 March, 1969], No. 14066/69. Heading B7H. A combined power unit, clutch, and transmission having change-speed gearing and a final drive differential assembly which is designed for transverse mounting may be modified, by substitution of a final drive pinion (not shown) and differential gear assembly by an internally-splined sleeve 6 carrying an extension shaft 8 within a housing 9 for mounting longitudinally. The shaft 8 is connected by a universal joint 10 to a propeller shaft 11.
