Abstract

1,243,873. Reactive metallized formazane dyes. J. R. GEIGY A.G. 28 Jan., 1969 [29 Jan., 1968], No. 4681/69. Heading C4P. The invention comprises dyes of formula wherein R is a monovalent organic radical, A and B are radicals of diazo components containing X 1 and X 2 in ortho-position to -N=N-, X 1 and X 2 are metallizable substituent residues, Z is an acid water-solubilizin, group, Y is a fluoropyrimidyl radical, R<SP>1</SP> is H or alkyl, Me is a heavy metal of atomic numbers 24-29, m is 1-5 and n is 1 or 2. The dyes are prepared by (a) reacting an appropriate amino-substituted metallized formazanewith a polyfluoropyrimidine, (b ) metallizing an appropriate fluoropyrimidylamino -formazane dye, or (c) preparing the dye by successive couplings and metallization using appropriately substituted components. The dyes colour cellulose fibres by the usual reactive dye processes in brown, blue, green and grey shades. Specification 1,241,516 is referred to.
