Abstract

1399296 Polyazo dyes BAYER AG 13 Oct 1972 [15 Oct 1971] 47363/72 Heading C4P New polyazo dyes which may be metallized are of formula wherein D is the radical of a diazo component X is H or a substituent, Y is OH or NH 2 , Ar is an optionally substituted p-phenylene or naphthylene radical, K is a sulphonaphthol residue linked in the 1-position to OH and in the 2- position to -N=N-, Z is a substituent, n is 1 or 2 and D or K may contain a further azo substituent are prepared by coupling a diazo compound with a 1-aminoaryl-pyrazole, further diazotizing and coupling with the sulphonaphthol. The dyes may be metallized at the final stage of preparation or at an intermediate stage with Cu, Ni, Cr or Co salts. The dyes may also contain fibre-reactive groups. They are used to colour cellulose fibres, paper, paper pulp, leather and particularly cotton in green and brown shades.
