Abstract

[Also in Division A4] In a washing device, e.g. a hose-brush for washing cars, a gravity-operated valve 15, is arranged to close a duct leading to one outlet for the brush 16 and open a duct leading to a nozzle 17, when the latter is pointing downwardly. On turning handle 13 and arm 12, about its rotary connection to handle 14, so that the brush 16 faces downwardly, a ball (19) falls from one end of a passage (18) to the other, to unblock the first duct and block the second. The handle 14 may be connected, by a flexible hose, to a wheel-mounted container for water and detergent associated with an electric pump, controlled by a coin-freed timer. A selector switch enables the pump to deliver water or a water/detergent mixture.
