Abstract

124,174. Chiesa, G. Dec. 31, 1918. Valve chests, cooling.-The valve cage 3 is constructed so that the valve spindle 1 is not exposed to the exhaust gases but is surrounded by a guide 2 which may have cooling ribs and is immersed in the water of the cooling jacket. The lower end of the guide 2 is screwed into and the upper end slides in the cage.
