Abstract

1,240,112. Rotary sliding vane machines. K. EICKMANN. May 21, 1968 [May 22, 1967], No.24051/68. Heading F1F. A rotor in a sliding vane machine of the kind comprising a rotor mounted for rotation and having radial slots slidably mounting vanes whose outer ends engage an eccentrically mounted track ring or casing part to form a plurality of variable volume working chambers, comprises a central cylindrical body portion and first and second end wall portions, one at each end of the body portion and of larger diameter than the body portion with at least one of the end wall portions separate from and securable to the body portion and radial vane slots extending axially from end to end of the rotor and of radial extent in the end wall portions such that a continuous peripheral portion of each end wall portion remains. The "rotor" may be held stationary and the track ring or casing part rotated. In Fig. 9, end wall portion 206 is formed integral with body portion 202 and an end wall portion 204 together with a cover plate 232 is removably secured to the body portion by bolts 252. The parts 206, 202, 204, 232 together with an end cover 243 adjacent the part 206 are all formed with a central hole of hexagonal cross-section to permit the aligning of the parts on a central sleeve. Recesses 240 in the rear face of the cover plate 232 closed by a plate 246 receive pressure fluid from the working chambers to urge the parts 232, 204, 202, 206 and 243 into sealing engagement with one another and with a stationary control body 272 through which fluid is supplied to and exhausted from the working chambers. In Fig. 1, both end wall portions 104, 106 are removably secured to body portion 102 by bolts 160 which pass through sleeves 158. The bolts 160 also secure end covers 132, 138 and a plate 152 to the end wall portions and the body portion. Each of the parts is formed with a central hole of circular cross-section to permit alignment thereof on a sleeve 163 in which a stationary control body 176 is mounted.
